Kiln Use Policies

  • All work must be fully dry and properly glazed and waxed prior to loading.

  • Low-fire clay bodies are not permitted in high-fire kiln cycles.

  • Kiln shelves must be cleaned of any glaze drips before and after use.

  • All pieces must be clearly labeled or accompanied by a detailed packing list.

  • The studio owner reserves the right to reorganize or adjust kiln loading for safety and firing efficiency.

Pickup & Storage

  • Completed work must be picked up within 5 days of firing unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance.

  • Unclaimed work may be subject to a storage fee or may be disposed of at the studio owner’s discretion.

Liability Waiver & Shelf Damage Policy

I acknowledge that ceramic firing involves inherent risks, including cracking, warping, glaze imperfections, misfires, and other firing-related issues. By using this service, I agree that the studio owner is not responsible or liable for any damage or loss to my work, whether resulting from kiln malfunction, operator error, or other unforeseen factors.

Any damage to kiln shelves—including glaze drips, adhesion, or structural harm—may result in repair or replacement fees at the discretion of the studio owner.
